Bhoopati Baboo

F* YEAH! This movie restored my faith in sci-fi when it seemed like the genre was increasingly becoming sappy like Interstellar/Ad Astra (power of love anyone?) or misinformed & baaasic like Black Mirror.

I get that this falls under Young Adult genre but the story was pretty enjoyable for this Old Adult as well. Just have to skip through the sappy "TV teenagers doing TV teenagers things" parts :P And thankfully it didn't suffer from the typical Netflix issue of: good first couple of episodes then a drag-fest. Better than Umbrella Academy.

a much needed break from CGI overdose - a good old, well written whodunit. no agendas, no politics, pure cinema. thoroughly enjoyed!

Preacher was a perfect adaptation of Garth Ennis's material but The Boys didn't quite deliver. Too watered down.

From retro cool to straight up cheese in season 3. Yet another sleeper hit gives in to pandering. The golden age of TV is far behind us folks. There will never be another Soparanos, Wire, Breaking Bad...shows that keep their soul intact with solid writing throughout their run.

Great first two seasons, then a Hugo sized disappointed.

What a waste of good material.

Like the toy, the show starts big with great characters but ends up laughably small. Could have worked as a movie but completely fails as a seven episode build-up to an underwhelming conclusion. Lacks the heart of Groundhog Day.

Whatever you do don't skip the end credits of the last episode.

All it took was some smart writing and this formulaic comedy became the most fun movie I watched on Netflix in quite some time. Few lame jokes, quite a lot of genuine lol moments and a great cast.
