I don't write reviews for movies generally. But this movie is really different so I thought I should share my views. First of all it is not really for children. The things that happen in the first 15 minutes are enough to scare a child real bad. This movie also contains serious themes and it is a gentle reminder about what happens when we are too indulgent and pay no heed to the environment. Also it is a critique of capitalism. These things would not be appreciated by a kid. If you are a fan of animes and mangas then you are in for a treat. Impeccable graphics for 2001, still carry the movie in 2018 and you would also appreciate the background music. It is a must watch to get a sense of what was going through the Japanese people's mind while they were recovering from the recession.
