The Islanders is an absolutely wonderful book. My 10 year old grandson has finished it in three days and is asking when Book 2 is coming. He wants to talk about it constantly and I think that is the best compliment to Mary Alice Monroe and Angela May. We live in the Lowcountry near the Bohicket Creek and it is a wonderful place for engaging in the adventures experienced by the children in this book. I LOVE the no tv and internet. He has already starting sketching things he sees on the riverbank and in the marshes. He is a great drawer but has never taken it outside. Thank you both for this wonderful story that both my grandson and I have thoroughly enjoyed. Wendy E Sizemore
