Matthew Gray

I am a die hard fan of this story and thought this version was poorly done. The acting (especially Amy & Laurie) was mediocre and that the characteristics of the characters were actually altered. Amy's lines were rushed, rehearsed and un engaging. The relationship between professor and Jo was not done to justice. I was very disappointed. Beth was not nearly weak enough in this version. She's supposed to be this frail shy and weak girl. Marmee was portrayed as weak and giddy (almost like a school girl) but she's actually the rock that holds the family together while the dad is away. I did not for one second feel the chemistry between Amy & Laurie. Or between Jo & the professor for that matter. The flashbacks were confusing even for one who knows the plot by heart and brutally pulls you out of the emotion you are feeling in the previous scene. The trip to the beach in both scenes were random and the plot for them are undeveloped.
