Craig Newlyn

It’s been many years since I finally finished this epic saga. I read it as Robert and then Brandon wrote it. So I have forgotten a lot. The TV show is doing a great job of reminding me how amazing this world is. How vast in scale and yet invested in the lives of the individual. Season two built on the first and I’m sure three will continue the trend. Let’s just hope the internet haters out then don’t poison peoples minds against it without giving the show a chance. In a time of Rings and Dragons I believe this series stands above.

Far from perfect, with some odd editing choices. Especially seeing as this has been so long in the making. It doesn't need to be this long and to be honest after the first 2 1/2 hours I almost gave up. However I, like Snyder's fan base, persevered and I actually kind of enjoyed the third act, which came as a surprise. It moved at a quicker pace, once a certain absent character was reintroduced, and with Whedon's comic trimmings peeled off made for a more substantial story. The film does win the award for the most futile attempt to spawn a sequel. Interesting though the premise is of the 'bigger bad' to come and the 'possible future' teased in the ending, too much time has passed and I think this is almost certainly the end of the line for the SnyderVerse, despite the inevitable coming hashtag.
