This game is a decent fifa installment since fifa 17, people are complaining about things like ‘scripting’ and sometimes yes, it can feel like the game is doing everything it can to go against you. I want to elaborate on this point. It feels like defenders constantly go through the space between the opponent and his touch which is very frustrating. It also feels like with ultimate team packs, the worse players will get the better ones. Another nitpick is that it feels like when you go through a phase where you can't upgrade your team, you really feel like you need to spend money on it, thankfully I haven't spent anymore than the actual fee of the game itself. Anyway, this year it’s much harder to score this year with goalkeepers being improved from last year, but sometimes make some very bad animation choices. The thing is, it should be much harder to score when it isn't because kick-off in online game modes, particularly ultimate team, see the player who just conceded run straight through the gap between the centre-backs straight after kick-off. This should not happen. what should happen is that centre-backs should be quick into getting to a good position, or they already start there. If it was so easy to score in real life there would be so much less emotion in the crowd when a goal is scored. A bad thing to add, is that EA still has fifa points, so it can still be considered pay to win. But honestly, if you want to get as much enjoyment out of ultimate team, at least for me the best option is to go road to glory style. Career mode has been massively improved, with a complete refresh of player career and create a club being a returning game mode for the first time in YEARS. Normal manager career hasn’t been changed, but it’s still a very enjoyable gamemode, so no complaints from me. I haven’t tried pro clubs, seasons or Volta yet, but it looks like EA have made significant changes to all three game modes.
Thank you for reading my opinion on this game, which is sometimes great and sometimes infuriating game and I hope that this can influence you.
