Yes, the movie could be better. But if you're just here to have a fun time, (Like I always am) you’ll get a wholesome experience. I remember watching this movie to death when I was younger, and I admit this could add a bias to my review. Still, even looking critically, it’s just a pleasant experience. The songs are fun, (Even if not sung the best) and the visuals are stunning. For a straight to DVD production: the backgrounds have a beautiful painterly style that mimics a picture book, and the animation is clean and cohesive. Some f the fight scenes could be improved however; In a scene 30 minutes in, this can be observed. Characters interact in a natural way. Some scenes are adorable just through body language of two or more characters. Once again, this can be found around the 30 minute mark. The humor is effective, and while not “cry on the ground and die of laughter whilst your friends watch” effective, it can get a few chuckles. I highly recommend; for the visuals, for the humor and especially for the characters. If you’re an animation geek, like me, you’ll especially enjoy the spectacle.
