Probably the most biased book ever written, it should be named A short history of the world through the eyes of an Englishman. He calls Christians and other nations conquerors and invaders, but calls Muslims encroachers. Assigns merit and ingenuity when Christians won wars, but when Muslims do it he says that it was because the opposing party was weak?? Calls Genghis Khan a murderer, whereas everyone was chopping up people whenever they invaded be they Muslims, Christians or other nations. Quite subtlety treads the event of culling of indigenous Indians and how barbarically it was done to paint the White man in a positive light. Uses terms like Stalin and his cronies, but mentions Winston Churchill as an INSPIRING LEADER? Is very quick to point out Japanese killing 300,000 Chinese civilian but just states that yeah US dropped the bomb on Hiroshima Nagasaki. Christopher Lascelles is a hypocrite if there was any! The only good thing about the book is the timeline and his writing method.
