It is an improvement over the first film. What a unique way of introducing dozens of DC villains all at once in films, just to kill most of them off half-way through. I think Will Smith should return so that he can connect with Idris Elba's character. The major drawback to this film is that it's a bit...much. Too much blood, CGI, and adult humor for just a movie that is based on comic books for kids, despite being about villains. Also, I was hoping for Rick Flag and Captain Boomerang to survive for another "movie-and-a-half".

I am aware that Netflix film has not made much of an impact as the anime. Though for the sake of fairness, the movie did contain certain pros and cons for the creators to make this movie possible. Pro: American fans expect the movie to be English. So it would be complicated if it was based in Japan. Con: It is quite unusual for an American boy to be named "Light". Pro: The use of the notebook had to chance to appeal to the viewers' recent interest in the deaths at a gorey level. Con: It pulls too far away from its source material, and not adding some spike to the mystery factor by making people in the movie less suspicious of Kira's heart attack calling card. Pro: The filmmakers humanized Light to make him more relatable to the audience. The experience would most likely make him into the Light from the anime that we all got to know. Con: Light's psychotic love to killing had already developed at the very beginning of the anime, which got fans interested in the show in the first place.

John Wick 3 had solid plot line and the right amount of violence. The only issue I had was that the choice of story was nowhere near the expectations I had before seeing it. After seeing John Wick 2, everyone knows that John will have to fight for his survival, which led me to believe that he would have to go to war with the High Table to put an end to it. But instead, the third film was just building up to that claim. The film started off with John fighting for his life, but then it moved to John trying to help his friend Winston, only to bring him right back to where he started. My expectations on the other characters were dwindling as well, with Laurence Fishburne and Halle Berry getting less screen-time. Even the rumors of Common and Ruby Rose returning in this film was then shown as mere cameos as pictures on the Bowery King's wall. In hindsight, I am looking forward to John Wick 4. Hopefully, with Hugo Weaving.
