Mostly good feelings. However, I was a little put off that the royals' visit was the springboard for the plot. I was hoping somebody would go rogue, like Branson setting up a big time car thieving syndicate, or Daisy becoming a militant feminist. A scandal involving anybody would have been nice, but it was all rather light and fluffy.
Lots of happy endings, far more than I thought necessary, underpinned not surprisingly by Lady Grantham confiding in Mary what she had to confide (can't say here, don't want to spoil anything).
Many of the TV episodes were deeper, more serious and more effective than this film, but it was generally pleasant and showed enough promise to hope for another one.
