This is about the 2nd season. The story is definitely interesting and is loosely based on true events starting with the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. But the producers have taken a lot of artistic liberties, showing the FBI agents as ruthless, amoral people hell bent on making sure that Jewell is convicted despite suspecting that not to be true. On the other hand, the local southern folks (in any walk of life, of course!), despite appearing uncouth and rough, are actually inherently good people with their heart in the right place. They are also admirably brave enough (gun-toting men and women alike) to stand up to the oppressive federal types who just want to bully the simple, but freedom loving people into submission. This unilateral portrayal progressively gets highly irritating and finally it reaches intolerable levels when a local militia leader is shown to be a God fearing, good person albeit fooled into supporting the real bomber because of lies fed to him. I do not understand why these anti-government attitudes and militia groups are glorified in an obvious attempt to be politically correct/sycophantic, lest the 2nd amendment folks be outraged. In any case, I had to stop watching after that and read up the real news story instead. I would advise the same for rational viewers.
