Everything about this show is tone deaf and out-of-touch. British teenagers talk freely about sex to each other? And immediately see sex therapy as a money making opportunity? And all wear highly stylized vintage clothing? A highschool student gets bullied for his lunch money and his lunch...? I start to think maybe this takes place in the 80s, but nope, then they start using smartphones. There is nothing British about this show except the poor attempt at the accent. Dialogue like a committee of middle aged accountants wrote how they thought "cool kids" talk. Watch this like you would a trainwreck, there's not a single natural moment, either in the script or between the actors, it's hard to see how they maintained such a staggering level of incompetence throughout just the first episode which I watched while cringing, thinking about the hack writers and producers who thought this was progressive or funny or at all worthy of anyone's attention. It's an insult to viewers and a sad sign of the decline of netflix's content into (visually) well-polished, but incomprehensible, poorly-conceived trash.
