If I had written this review after episode 7, I might have given it 4 or maybe 5 stars. However , the final episode left me with so many questions and watching scenarios which made absolutely no sense .
Pros : I liked how each episode was devoted to a particular character and their relationship to Nick and to solving the murder. The plot kept me interested enough to want to see more . As pure entertainment I give it 5 stars . The acting was good and the storyline kept my interest .
Cons : SPOILERS :
1. I read reviews that there were many twists and turns and a surprise ending . Well since we were not introduced to the murderer until the last episode of course we could not guess who it was . It could be nothing but a surprise ending .
2. There were too many inconsistencies and things that made no sense . Examples , why didn’t the women FaceTime with Nick ? Why was it never even mentioned ? Why did we see Nick and Emma with each other in bed multiple of times ( I’m sure to throw us off but …) Why did the women accept photoshopped photos of themselves with Nick ? Since Nick had set up a fake dating profile when he met Mandy , why didn’t he receive notifications when Dawn took over his persona ? Why didn’t Emma pay for her sunflowers ?
3. When Nick was let go from his kidnappers , it made no sense to go directly to Dawn’s house . He escapes death and he didn’t think to go home to see his family first ? He was on foot and in the dark and beaten up and he not only knew where Dawn lived but was able to walk there ? Oakland is a large City ! Very improbable!
4 . Some reviewers have stated that how does a 63 year old woman know how to use technology in this manner? I’m a 69 year old woman and I could easily do what she did … but her husband killed Nick so easily .. for what? Did it warrant murder?
Writers, you could have done a much better job . There was potential . Good acting , an interesting plot and theme but just too many mistakes !
