This show caught the attention of America for the first 5 seasons, then America’s attention wandered, as did mine. However, the 7th and final season, I believe, is one of the best shows on Netflix. Thank you OITNB, for utilizing your platform to address so many issues going on in our country right now that many are trying to sweep under the rug or ignore, like immigration detention and family separation, mental illness, female genital mutilation, inmate recidivism, and so many others. We hear about these issues and understand them intellectually, but to watch them on your show, I know your wonderful writers are writing more reality and less drama than previous seasons. I’m so glad that you are writing these episodes so viewers in denial can be educated and maybe, just maybe, will start making educated decisions when necessary. Maybe advocate where needed. This ICE business is no joke. Thank you, Netflix and OITNB producers and writers, and everyone else involved in Season 7! I’m grateful.
