“Dear reader, being at peace with oneself is not the ultimate goal of life, but a fundamental requirement.” The very first quote to find once you start this book. Enough hook for even a non-non-fic person like me.
Having read tons of books on personal development, soft skills, etc., from widely known and lesser-known authors, I must admit this one actually made it to my consciousness.
The part that I believe to be different in this novel is its root causes or the message it delivers. It focuses on developing peace and enhancing tranquillity in one’s life before actually hopping on to improving other soft skills that the whole world is struggling with.
Non-fiction, of course, but the text in this book is going to leave you in a rather serene place. Unlike most other non-fiction books that focus on being all vigorous and extra determined, this one gives you a sense of the gradient that you require to transition to your better version.
Hence, if you pick this read, read it with an open mind. Welcome the mindset, try to grasp and most importantly, go one step at a time. Slow reading this novel and tons of annotations for yourself will help you get more out of it
