I'll start by saying this, if your reading this after seeing a 44% user review and don't want his game because of that, IGNORE THAT. This game is phenomenal if you liked the first one, it is literally just the Last of Us Part I with a new story, some new mechanics, and you play as Ellie, case and point, that's it. If you're looking for it to be RADICALLY different, then you're honestly pathetic. It is dark, there are parts that are a little difficult to stomach. But they do it so well it's no different then watching something like SAW or literally any other horror movie but with a good story. Give it a chance if you're on the fence after seeing reviews. People that don't like the story are probably just too squeamish and didn't pay attention to the fact that they made this game, TO BE UNCONFORTABLE. SPOILER WARNING If people don't stop review bombing this game I'm going to sit them down and make them play Duke Nukem Forever or Fallout 76 to completion. This game isn't perfect. But, although I haven't finished it, the ONLY part I've had issues with is the part when you switch to Abby. The Cliffhanger it gives you and the fact that you have a whole new experience to go through with the BAD GUY, sucked. I almost gave up and returned the game. But I gave it a chance. Abby's story isn't gamechanging, I still hate her. Regardless of the fact Ellie killed your friends, You killed Joel so you suck Abby. The other issues people have that I've seen are irrelevant. It's just the first one but with a new story, uh yeah it's a sequel? The gameplay didn't change at all. I'm sorry the prone mechanic that is in this game has given me more tactical advantages than ANYTHING in the first game. I'm having more fun with this game, I'm more CONNECTED to this game, and frankly I'd be willing to say this game should be Considered Goty. The only game I see that could top it is CyberPunk 2077, but honestly that game will probably be delayed to 2021. This game was made to be uncomfortable and to face the dark side of humanity and see if we can actually come back from something like that. The story is Raw, and it is good. If you disagree with that, you're probably someone that enjoyed Fallout 76 and TLOU2 wasn't for you in the first place. Thank you!
