Oh gosh! I just saw Ek ladki ko dekha to aisa laga! Please go see it. It's not perfection but it is a pretty great movie. I wished there was more of Kuhu and Sweety. But I understand the director's choices of focusing on the family considering it is a big step for Indian audiences (especially after terrible movies such as Fire and Girlfriend).
The scenes in the movie with young Sweety - they truly brought out the essence of my youth and the immense loneliness I felt growing up with this secret. The choices she has - marry someone, run away or commit suicide are real choices I've thought about. I couldn't imagine ruining another person and their family's happiness and could never pick the first choice. So I ran away to USA. But that doesn't mean, I never thought of choice number 3.
The bullying scene will make your heart melt.
Anil Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao are competent actors who deliver. I especially loved Anil Kapoor's dialogues in the climax scene.
The movie is funny. And Juhi Chawla definitely gets her comic timing right. Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla have easy chemistry.
Regina Cassandra deserved more screen time. And their story deserved more depth. Especially the start of it. I would haven't picked Sonam Kapoor to do this movie but she comes through. My issues are not with her acting - but I would have wanted her character to be more assertive.
All in all - GO WATCH THE MOVIE!
