I haven't seen a show balance humour and sadness so well since prime Simpsons. Each of the side characters is strong enough to have a series to themselves and the eponymous protagonist (anti-hero?) is up there with the Don Draper's and Tony Soprano's. Everyone involved deserves to be very proud of their creation.
