This novel is a winner with reluctant readers, boys, girls, Christians, atheists, and it is easy to teach. It is not too long so it is far less intimidating that many classic novels but the message and literary techniques are far-reaching making it ideal in the classroom.

My favorite book of all time. I teach it every year and even my most reluctant readers end up loving this novel. It is so relevant today that it is both sad and scary.
