Midway in my opinion was really good but there was one thing that bugged me. If you are a world war 2 historian like me you find the movie enjoyable but still notice a couple of historical errors here and there. (As expected of a depiction of any historical event in cinema) just as a casual movie goer I’m sure you will be finely impressed by how well done the special effects and cgi of this movie are done. Very amazing job in that department. The acting is done very well too. Many of the actors you will recognize from many other films and the roles they play in this film are all relatable and enjoyable. In the stance of a historian you may find some things a bit unsettling. As in the depiction of Pearl Harbor you may feel very overwhelmed by the amount of explosions. It seems a bit pushed or over the top for the event. But Midway overall does a very nice depiction of Pearl Harbor, probably one of the best could argued. On the battle of Midway scenes too me they felt a bit short and that really bugged me. That scene is the main climax of the story where the real action happens. But it seemed a bit short. Overall on a scale of 1-10 if I had to rate the movie, personally I would give it a 8.5. If your thinking of going to this movie it is definitely worth. Heck take the whole family with you. But If your worried as well about some scenes being to intense dramatic or maybe a bit frightening for children, as far as a age rating for kids to see the movie. I would say if they 9+ then it should be okay for them to see. If you have some knowledge on ww2 and Midway then you should be okay seeing it. But it is also important for kids to know what happens in war and that war is hell and not a good thing. It’s important to educate them on history too. So if your looking for a history lesson for the kids on ww2 this one will do. This is my rating on Midway and I highly recommend you watch it, it is a very well done ww2 movie.
