I wouldn't call it a movie, rather it's a lesson for all the girls and boys in our society. Normally when people fall in love, they're blind and are unable to judge whether the relationship is TOXIC or not. Majority of the girls enjoy the possessiveness, restrictions on freedom, etc by their boyfriends They think that this Master-Slave relationship is the right way to be loved. This movie is an eye-opener to such innocent girls out there - to educate on whether to stay in such a relation or not!
Also, I would like to point out the contrast of reactions by Govind an Pallavi on Acid Vs ColdWater. When Govind threw acid on Pallavis face in Mumbai, the guy who loved her could feel neither pity nor guilty. He was still angry on her that because she filed a case against him, he was dismissed from the present job, lost his dream job offer from Riyadh and was unable to find alternate job options either. Later in a flight journey Pallavi threw normal water on Govinds face. Even after throwing acid on her face, Pallavi chose to throw cold water and not hot coffee even when she had a chance to! Yet, Govind was trying his maximum to raise complaints against her leading to loss of her job!
Govind is not an alien character, but there are many Govinds in our society, although the gravity may vary! It's not just the fault of Govind either. Our society, which promotes male-chauvinism and toxic-masculinity, has the greatest role in creating more and more Govinds. Malayalam movies in the past had also given its role in glorifying Induchoodans who need wife to beat up, keep rearing his children are just an example among them. I'm extremely happy that the same medium -Malayalam Cinema- has been used in the 21st century to reverse the history and promote gender equality, educate the ill-effects of male toxicity, etc..
