The movie is a wasted opportunity at creating a masterpiece. With a strong back- story, Drishyam 2 starts off well. As the story progresses, glaring loopholes emerge in the story. Because of this, the premise becomes weak. There are some ideas in the movie that are very fresh but the unconvincing premise weakens the whole plot leaving the viewer dissatisfied. I hope that the plot holes are rectified when the movie is when this is remade in other languages.

This movie is an amazing satire, very funny and thoroughly enjoyable. It is a wake up call for everyone in the society who tries to benefit at the cost of humanity in a crisis, rather than trying to resolve for betterment of everyone. Must watch.

And the "DULLEST THRILLER AWARD" goes to .............................DARK. We started the show when it was released and stopped at the very first episode as it quickly got boring. After listening to the rave reviews, we gave it another shot with low expectations, and thank God for that. It builds slowly through the first season creating mysterious happenings and several of those remain unanswered even as the series ends. Some highlights of the show - 1. It is the epitome of poor communication skills - No conversation is intelligible. The response to every question is a mysterious quote such as "It's all connected" or "I'm sorry" or "I can't explain it to you but you will understand" etc. 2. It arouses zero emotions - I have gone through 3 seasons of this show with nothing but apathy for every single character. 3. Lack of logic - Most characters at any given point behave opposite to logic and it is almost impossible to understand what their intentions are. I am rating it 2/5 because 1. The actors across different ages look very similar and it is a nice surprise. 2. The writers have tried (although in vain) to explain the narrative. For a show with a tagline "It's all connected", this is nothing but loose ends. As it concludes, it does justice to it's title by keeping the viewers in "DARK".

This is not a talent hunt for singers. It is a huge PR stunt in which Sony tries to find people with potential "interesting stories" , and packages it with masala (mostly tears and dumb jokes). They go out of their way to highlight unrelated narratives just to create character arcs for the contestants. These stories are sold to the Indian audience and the one that draw most emotions wins. The judges don't offer anything and their primary job (as per the script) is to - 1. Praise the contestants unreservedly. 2. Emphasise that this is the best show ever and such talent is never seen before. 3. Indulge in cringeworthy exchanges with the host and contestants' family. Given a choice, I would rate this show 0 stars.

Overall, it is an average movie. The story revolves around several characters and I didn't root for even a single one. At times, I wondered where the story is headed to and expected an exciting ending. But it never came. It is a bits and pieces story which doesnt invest enough into characters. Very often, characters make irrational decisions without a real need for it. It a movie with a promising start and great performances but fizzles out slowly throughout.

This movie exceeded my expectations and I am honestly surprised by the negative reviews it has received !! I can understand that parts of the storyline might be hard to digest for some viewers, but it gives a good mix horror, comedy and a social message. This movie has funny/witty dialogues and an unusual love story, which adds to the comical element. The movie also has a great climax. Go for it !

The first episode is terrific, thrilling and funny. It shows a carefree (borderline irresponsible) flight attendant getting tangled into an unfortunate incident. Right from get go, Kaley does a phenomenal job and she is charming as ever. But as the show progresses, the protagonist becomes less and less likable with a string of poor decisions. It seems like the writers sqeezed out an 8 episode series of what could have been a 2.5 hour movie. I watched episodes 2-4 and got frustrated at the rate at which quality drops and I am not sure if I will go on to watch rest of the season.
