As a baby boomer quite willingly attending Mary Poppins Returns , I was anxiously awaiting the magic- what I got was a CG rehash . I give this movie a B- . Maybe just Ok for today’s children, but for us older folk, Why, Disney,WHY? The original was perfect just the way it was! I saw it at age eight in Radio City Music Hall- which May cloud my ability to judge fairly. Emily Blunt was spot on, but without a doubt she had giant shoes to fill. Trip the Light Fantastic was awesome but BMX bikes-really??? The high point of the film was the few minutes Dick Van Dyke appears- which only appealed to us oldies once again. Don’t try to remake perfection Disney, just don’t try!
