One of my biggest peeves about social media & online opinion platforms is the mob mentality byproduct it has created. I wonder how many people who claim to be offended by some aspect of a tv show or movie, really feel the way they claim to feel. It seems uncool to simply say, This is a great show, well acted, interesting spin on what could have happened from one split-second decision. Or to say, "Wow, look how far we've come! Kudos to the trailblazers ".
But no. People have to claim to be offended by the smoking, the gender bias, or the message it sends to our heroes. It's a freaking tv drama, not a PSA.
So. If you're from the "sticks & stones" generation and want to watch a high quality well acted show, check it out. But if you feel it necessary to always have a negative "insightful" opinion about some social injustice, then don't watch. (Although you probably will ...just so you can write about all the ways you are offended.)
