For a show that was suppose to celebrate 20 years of Yugioh, it was pretty disappointing. The studio completely changed the art style, and made Yugioh look so generic. As for the protagonist, the writers made him the protagonist with the most amount of losses, compared to all of the previous ones we’ve had so far. Which I find hilarious, because he was the one who created Rush duels. Yet he lost more than any other protagonist. Beating the MC in a serious duel was an accomplishment. But now it’s nothing. And no big deal. Which is sad honestly.
Sevens also had characters with potential but they wasted it. Neil was the only character I liked. And his duels with Yuga were great. But they wasted his character afterwards. Like he couldn’t beat Gakuto for example. And that’s pretty disappointing. So if you’re expecting well written characters, you’ll be disappointed. It’s the same thing with the villains. There are no good villains in Sevens, which is also sad. For a show that was suppose to celebrate 20 years of Yugioh, it was very disappointing. Thanks Studio Bridge!
