Lovely story, and some good acting. But also some really contrived moments, emotional insertions which didn't make much sense, and some playing to stereotypes which seemed born of a sense of need, rather than being part of natural plot flow. Altogether I would absolutely recommend this be watched, with the caveat that one should not have exceedingly high expectations for some cinematic elements. Overall, it's a compelling story worth watching.
