Aesthetically the difference between Resurrections and the original trilogy is like chosing to go to Coachella over Berghain. My cat has fights that are more epic than watching Neo going around doing the "bullet proof orb" thing every 5mins. On a deeper note, the first 3 films really inspected how a digital world can hamper freedom. Now 20 years later we live in a world where climate change threatens the existence of all life and resources on earth and COVID has shown us that freedom is not always what we think it is or should be. There is so much fodder in this crazy world for a much better message than what Matrix Resurrections delivered.
