I hated it. I thought it was beneath the abilities of two great actresses, and that all they were doing was Grace and Frankie 2.0. The director should have incorporated flashbacks to give context to Evelyn's and Claire's anger, as well as to Claire's failed first marriage. As for comedy, there were some comedic moments but they weren't all that great.

I thought the show was very well made and well acted. It is a period piece about the Cold War so the acting must reflect that time period. As for the comments about brutality, well it was about espionage during the Cold War. It was probably tame compared to reality. My only complaint is that I thought they tried to stuff too much into the last two episodes, but I guess you can't have an 11 episode series.
