Such an amazing book written by an amazingly strong woman, both mentally and physically strong! Reading this book nowadays, I realize that kayaking has changed in that we wear at least a wet suit farmer john or a drysuit when kayaking in cold waters but back in 1992, that wasn't as common. One can't help but feel the joy Victoria had when paddling in the Arctic and her love for nature and the people of this area!.. I'm sure that her total appreciation for the Arctic and it's people is what really carried her on her quest while the harsh paddling conditions and experiences would likely have most people quit.

It has become too depressing!!... It's mainly bad News... Not enough good news to be mentally healthy for watching... Even the music is depressing! I've had to stop watching it!.. Now I watch CTV news.. "a local station".. Yes, there's still some bad news but the atmosphere isn't so depressing. I think that "The National" needs to change it's tone if it wants to keep it's audience. I think that during these times of "Covid 19".. Trump.. Fires in the U.S.... accelerated drug deaths... Police brutality etc... something needs to change with how "The National" is presented!!.. I stopped watching "The National" about 5 days ago and I feel so much better!... I'm still getting the "News". It's not like I'm not informed!.. I'm just not getting it drilled into me in such a negative way! Cheers!!... Heather Jones
