Basically, a shaggy dog story with a strong cast but which involves an unexplained malevolent something-or-other that can control the forces of nature but not your eyelids. Apparently. OK, so they get to the blind school, but then what? Good sci-fi is consistent within the world that it sets up—this was not. Waste of time, unless you just want to understand the memes.
