Build up of story from S1-S7 was cool, I even liked S8-E1 & E2 too. But the way they concluded series was an epic disaster. Lot of plot holes (back story of main villain is missing, what was his motive etc nothing was explained), way they killed certain characters in the end and aftermath MAKES NO SENSE. Just because of last season, I'd rate 1, because if you are making a dessert and in the end if it doesn't taste sweet then surely nobody would like it.

I don't why people are bashing Sun and Moon so much. Remember, Pokemon is not just dogfight and battles. One really good thing about this series is character development of each of Ash's party pokemon like Rockruff -> Lycanroc , Litten -> Torracat -> Incineroar , Rowlet Ash's Lycanroc has interesting arc , how Ash had to struggle to fully control and channel Lycanroc's anger properly. Ash's Litten has a really touching background story , how poor Litten tries to move on without its only loved one companion, Stoutland, who still manages to teach it moves like Fire Fang , Flame Charge and Fire Blast Ash's Rowlet also has a great arc showing how much its attached to Toucannon group and how Toucannon teaches it moves like Feather Dance and Seed Bomb Finally, series concludes with final face off of each of these guys with their arch enemies whom they had never defeated earlier properly namely Gladion's Lycanroc , Kukui's Incineroar and Hau's Decidueye
