We enjoyed watching her original show. If you're looking for something new, this is not the program for you. However, if you're a current fan, and are looking for, what amounts to Season 26, of JJ, you won't be disappointed. We enjoy JJ's new, updated look. The purple robe is not exactly judicial, but it is flattering, as is her new hair style. Whitney, the court reporter, is pleasant enough, but doesn't necessarily add anything crucial to the show. The new bailiff's personality is benign, but we were never big Byrd fans. While his banter, with JJ, was witty, his interactions, with the litigants, displayed his disinterest, disrespect, and gave the impression that he was above fetching documents for the Judge. He went out of his way to avoid making eye contact with the parties. I'm sure JJ enjoys having her granddaughter, Sarah Rose, keep her company, on the bench. It's clear she's extremely proud of her, and with JJ's track record and tenure, she's earned that indulgence. While we enjoy the post-case summaries, in chambers, Sarah Rose seems like an attractive prop. She is clearly directed to ask a staged question, at which point, JJ gives her genuine take on the case. Fans, of JJ, will enjoy the original, long-time premise, in an updated setting.
