Appeal and charm is there. Solid acting, realistic deception of Pakistani life, not to mention stylistic, aesthetic reminds me of folks that made into the spider verse.
As usual this will be a hot rod for the culture war and plently of idoits will mistake their own subjective lens on life to be "valid critiques". Not to mention straw man the material, such as "Ew what arnt you proud of your heritage, you should be more respectful to your family". As your family rejects parts of your identity they cant relate with.
Its a unique perspective seeing how hers develops, along with seeing the pros and cons that come along with her background. When does that its solid, when it gets to high school romp, mileage will vary. For most though, this will work to. Even if it does get tropey, how that goes, we will see.
