I just finished this series through Audible and overall it was very....disappointing. The first book was great and I had high expectations but by the third I just wanted to get it over with in hopes it got better. *SPOILER ALERT* everyone dies and no one gets what they want and they live in misery forever, it’s like the Anti-Narnia series. Pullman, while a talented writer, seems more concerned with bashing the Catholic faith than he does with deepening his characters or storytelling, it makes me wonder if he used to he an altar boy.
