Put off watching the show simply because it was a YouTube premium series and I usually found they were bad. But then I saw a clip of a fight on a best fights compilation which was excellent so gave the show a go. Binge watched all the episodes in about a day and a half and it is incredible, one of the best shows I have ever watched. The show references the old Karate kid films a lot but somehow it doesn't feel forced, none of the characters are simply black or white in terms of good or bad and the major fights are excellently choreographed. Most importantly for me, is every character feels real and has you feel some kind of way about them, and there is never an obvious player to root for and it is all personal, for example Sam's relationship with both Miguel and Robby is complex and yet doesn't make the show feel like a soppy romantic drama.
Would highly recommend the show to *anybody* and the only critique I can say is that episodes aren't long enough and there are only 10 per season, so as critiques go that's a good one to have.
Gutted to have got in to the show only weeks after season 2 was released to then find out I have to wait a whole year for season 3.
