I was able to get through the film. It’s definitely a thinker and because of the way it ends, makes you think even more. We currently live in a world that is connected. Many social media sources already do a small portion of what The Circle did. WE ALREADY KNOW THIS. The distaste in my mouth was it’s ending. She ultimately threw the top guys under the bus, “held them accountable”, but then carried on the company in the same way that they inspired it to be (minus the hidden emails that viewers still are left clueless as to what those secrets were). Left me thinking it was purposely done that way, because of how ridiculous the ending was. Technology has done wonderful things, but it also has the ability to do terrible things if taken too far and in the wrong hands. I’m left confused on the director’s take-away, but also carried away in thoughts so for that I guess it was ok.
