Great world building and production values. But... Character development isn't the strong suit. The villain is pitiful and comes off as an unhinged lunatic with god knows what motivation and not a shrewd criminal. The acting in the first episode is laughable. It takes three episodes to actually get to the point of the series. The first three episodes are the classic race-against-time. Sometimes the kid actors indulge in such cringey teen drama that it takes out the fun of a sci fi survival against all odds story. It tries to be a serious but more often than not I feel like I'm watching something on "The CW".
