Don't listen to the haters, there is so much to unpack in this final chapter and Abrams successfully brought it all together in the end. While others might call it predictable, this story was only ever going to end one way. It's how they get there which makes it worth it. Those who have gripes with various points of the movie - I truly think they just don't get it. The essence of Star Wars is in this final film, and the main reason why I think it succeeds.
Tons of lore in this movie, and really makes me wish we would've gotten an episode 8 from Abrams. The film moves quick, but that is because there is so much to get to, that could've been expanded on had Abrams retained the helm for episode 8. I can see why some people wouldn't like the decisions or direction this movie took, I'm willing to defend each decision made as utterly necessary given the circumstances. As a self proclaimed die hard fan, I think they really knocked it out of the park. The best of the sequel trilogy for sure, and bittersweet - the film at once successfully closes the Skywalker Saga, but finally makes me want to see more of the new cast.
