Personally, I found this film to be an incredible feat, extremely unique and was certainly heart wrenching. However, based on real holocaust survivors, ie: my great grandparents, the train may as well have been taking the cattle car passengers to Disneyland.
What happened to them in that car was horrifying enough. I can't and will never have to find out first hand what really took place in the cattle cars.
If I had no comparison to make about the film and was seeing it for the first time, I feel, in my mind, that must have been how it was. It was terrifying, horrifying and showed Hitler's soldiers at their best
I'll never as long as I live, understand how cruel and sadistic one crazy man with a mustache could have compelled an entire so called, cultured, sophisticated people to become what he turned the German's into.
It is not the responsibility of today's modern German society to be blamed for what their ancestors did, but it is their responsibility now and forever to not let the world ever forget.
