This is an awesome show and full of Action! So if you're a fan of Sci-fi and Hero's who like to beat the mess out of monsters this is the show for you:)
character, ASUMA'S journey and new friends
The show starts off with a 14 year old boy (Asuma) who bumps into a man named Hibiki. Initially, I found Asuma to be a bit timid and also shy, someone who likes to keep to himself but when a small child almost dies in front of him, he watches this stranger Hibiki swiftly come to rescue the child, Asuma finds this man to be very mysterious. A little later, Asuma gets into trouble himself and once again Hibiki swiftly rushes into action and saves the boy, due to this Hibiki becomes Asuma's idol.
Asuma's idol happens to be an Oni, basically a badass superhero who saves mankind! Soon Asuma begins to pursue Hibiki and thus becomes familiar with the various people that surround Him. He soon discovers the other badassed heroes who are just like his idol. He also meets a whole team of others who assist the heroes to continue to save mankind like; a scientist, a man who organizes the assignments per Oni, the secretaries who connect Oni to other Oni, the human and these alive-DVD-like-disc-animal assistants who go out into the field with Oni. The human assistants have to be well trained because they're in a dangerous environment with the Oni. They are big help to the Oni. They're typically seen scouting out villains, preparing disc animals, soundwave assistance and giving the Oni lost weaponry if needed. Asuma truly walks into this new adventurous world and the life of Hibiki and the other Oni and is simply amazed by it all. Perhaps, Asuma wants to become an Oni himself, just like Hibiki. The viewer goes on this journey with Asuma watching him face difficulties as well as watching him train to become stronger. This training basically equates to doing your best whether it's getting good grades in school or getting a summer job or actually training to become an Oni. Asuma's character throughout the series is rather encouraging and definitely likable. Asuma almost makes the viewer want to try to do their best in life as well.
Each episode connects to the next and your enthusiasm to see how it develops escalates, you'll want to see Asuma pursue Hibiki his hero, all the while watching and waiting for him to figure out what he wants to do in his own life...To be or not be an Oni:)
The other character's in the show are also well developed to garner the interest of the viewer.
The Hero HIBIKI!
Hibiki is called an Oni, and he's the main hero of this series. He's an honest man yet, slightly odd but lovable. His motto seems to be to live his life to the fullest and save his fellow humans. Hibiki takes his job very seriously and is well trained. It's really fun to watch him slaying demons very awesomely. He is the focus Oni but there are three other loveable hero's that are also well developed characters and the most enjoyable action is when they have to team up in three's to take out an evil creature(s)
Hibiki seems like a loner mostly but his character also seems to grow and become wiser due to his growing fondness for Asuma. Actually Hibiki would never accept disciples before he met Asuma, he learns to open up and accept not one but two disciples Asuma and one other teenage boy. Spoiler alert only one these boys becomes a future Oni:)
The ACTION!
Hibiki is joined by three other heroes as well as their disc animals and helpful human partners. They wrestle large and human sized hideous monsters called makamou. The makamou as well as these strange human puppets are all created by two sorcerers, a man and a woman who seem hell bent on experimenting on humans and giving their beasts(makamou) and endless food supply which is people.
This show is very engaging and not even halfway into the series if you're like me you'll find yourself rooting for the hero's every time they destroy all the nasty creatures and thwart the efforts of the evil sorcerers:)
