Today we had to listen to Tim Scott whose arrogance gave me heartburn. Anyone who plows over Andrew and interrupts him repeatedly cannot earn respect. Please get another guest.

Great cast, great motif, but the film needs major editing. Kinda Pee Wee Herman, kinda Barbie, kinda Mel Brooks…. But needs pulling together. Sebastian is great with his one scene! Amy is just awful. Free on Netflix.

I would like to have seen a more positive film about such a respected and talented man. What we do see here reflects family tragedy and misunderstanding. On the other hand, a poignant and touching film revealing a difficult soul .

Slow moving: overrated , weak characters. We kept waiting for the point.

Doer’s Pulitzer Prize winning book embodied the tender emergence of tenacious humanity in spite of war and its evils. This movie has very little to do with the novel’s tone or purpose. The screenplay emphasis the sadistic roughneck cruelty of the Nazi characters, washing over and drowning the theme of hope.

Stunning! When the entire theater of patrons remains frozen in their seats and watches every credit at the end you know they’ve been affected. It’s a heart breaker!
