I could not be happier with this adaptation of Stroud's brilliant books. The main trio of actors are brilliant, and the show preserves all the characters' quirks and flaws and gives them all their moments to shine. The production quality is excellent, the soundtrack perfectly moody, and the series nails that "cozy scary" feeling that Joe Cornish said he wanted to achieve. I so hope they are able to adapt more of the books because this is clearly a passion project where all the elements have come together to make true magic.

Each of the new characters was hollowed out to be vessels for the old characters, and in the process, made me feel played for ever caring about the new story they were telling. TLJ and TFA are beautiful compared to this.
