Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is well crafted slow burn . This film caters to a niche audience who can understand the deeply layered subtexts of the plot. Dibakar Banerjee surely knows how to bring the best out of actors like Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra who have delivered their career best performance. Arjun's rough appearance with deadpan expression and Parineeti's head strong corporate women character are pleasing to watch. Supporting cast like Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta playing a patriarchal uncle and stereotypical Indian housewife have done exceedingly well in their roles respectively. Special mention to Jaideep Ahlawat's extended cameo. This underrated gem deserves to get it's due on OTT since it's not your typical commercial theatrical release. Technical aspects are simply superb especially the first 5 mins which was quite impactful. A big production like YRF should have definitely backed this unconventional project as it literally had no promotion or marketing buzz at all. Overall a good watch which touches upon various social issues like prejudice, patriarchy, misogyny, manipulation & superiority complex among different stratas of people in the most subtle way.
