First off, I never read the books or played the games, but that will definitely be changing. I am, however, a huge fan of the fantasy genre and have seen so many of my favorite books butchered by being made into films, as characters I came to know and love through several books were recognizable only in name on the big or small screen. I did brush up on the lore of the games and books before watching, because I wanted to have at least a general idea of what the Witcher universe was like/about. I have watched all 8 episodes and look forward to the next season on Netflix. I will probably take the time in between to purchase and read the books now! I'm hopeful the adaptation to film honors the story of Geralt as I already find him endearing.
