There are some very talented young writers, actors, and directors in the UK. The conflict between the two main characters, however, could have been given a little more time to develop, but as I was watching it, I was mostly impressed that they persevered and got the movie made. I've been showing "Bullet Boy" in my English classes here in Philadelphia since it was released, and my students absolutely love that movie, which also caused a lot of them to watch "Top Boy" on Netflix. I'm not one who believes that these movies can help to change behavior, but they are useful in illustrating the mindset of the young people involved. Let's see if the director can return with a slice of Uk urban life that illustrates the life of those outside of gangs/turf wars etc.
