As the lead editor of this book, I obviously cannot write a review. But I'd like to mention that the publisher just announced it now has brought out a soft cover edition--so the book price dropped by over 50%! I hope hope that will make it more accessible for teachers and students and others.
This project, with 19 co-authors who all have worked and lived in the nations discussed in the book, presents the health reform experience of 12 small and medium-sized countries across the world. These countries are not often included in international comparison (most of these studies focus on the US, the UK and Canada--if only due to the availability of statistical data of the OECD and ease of access to the English language). We found the smaller nations of our book provide a rich and varied 'laboratory of policy change' in healthcare and health reforms.
