One of the best things I've ever read. I've never been one of those readers to underline certain quotes, phrases or lines in a book, but this made me dig down to find my pencil. Within a few days I was done and in love with it. There were so many things to love, empathize and admire. The writing was beautiful, heck, it almost made me cry(and I don't cry easily). Each character, even at their worst seemed so real and understandable. I've never felt a character the way I felt Charlie and the fact that letters were written in the early 90s while I was over a decade after makes me like it even more. At first, I just read it because I liked the movie a lot, but now I can say for sure that it's one of my favourite books ever.....IT MADE ME FEEL INFINITE!

Good actors, good characters...LOTS of wasted potential. I've learned that they originally planned for this to be a series and I think they should've stuck with it. Even at the end, there are a lot of questions like (spoilers) What's the extent of Dani's powers? How strong is Illyana? Does Sam get better at controlling his powers? etc. If you're a big X-men fan then you probably know the answers to some of these, but as someone who is very new to the movies, I wish this film (supposed-to-be-series) did a bit more for me.

There are very few book-to-film adaptations that can be an example of shows/movies actually improving the book. But Shadow and Bone not only makes the characters better and shows us a great grishaverse, it also gives us diversity, great actors, a good plot with originality (that also stays true to the plot from the books), good character development and actually nice writing in my opinion. It makes up for a few things I as a reader actually didn't like too much in the books. AWESOME JOB to Netflix, the cast of Shadow and Bone and Leigh Bardugo. I can't wait for more seasons!

I always hated Cinderella. Her story was nothing I could relate to, pity or find very interesting because there were worse things happening around me. But in this telling of Cinderella, I actually really like her character. She wasn't just the bland, pretty, blonde whose tiny feet got her a crown anymore. I love that they gave her character some more backbone in this live-action. She has more fire and is way more relatable now. This and beauty and the beast are the only live-action movies I've seen so far from Disney that were worth the budget. To sum up everything, I LOVE this movie and I totally recommend this if you're like me and didn't like the original cinderella or if you do like it and want to see more.
