Biomutant deserves more than 5 stars. I'm not going to say it's the best game ever made in the RPG genre. But it's probably the best indie title I have ever played. I'm my opinion, it's as if Horizon Zero Dawn and the Fallout series had a furry, mutated love-child. My wife (also a gamer) thought the concept seemed lame. She watched me play for about 30 minutes, and now she wants to play it while I'm at work on her console.
Here is the best way I can explain my experience to someone who knows nothing about it:
Do you like Cheescake Factory? More than likely, you think it's awesome, or at least really good.
Does it have the best food you have ever tasted? Probably not, but it's still very tasty.
Have you ever been in a more beautiful restaurant? More than likely, but still...
Better service elsewhere? Possibly.
So, Cheesecake Factory is not the very best in any particular category, but because they hit high marks overall for a chain restaurant, this is why you are probably waiting 30-60 minutes for a table at 7pm for dinner.
Now, imagine now how hard it would be for most independent restaurants, that do not have the same level of financial backing as a huge chain, to be able to accomplish something like this. Especially since there is a very high failure rate for independent restaurants.
That... that is the best analogy I can give. People who are rating this game poorly should be sterilized.
