In this time of our nation's need we need to have a visible nightly message to all CBS viewers toward the commitment toward diversity. Having a minority as the anchor reminds everyone this nation was build on diversity. Actions speak louder than words. Jay Shaylor, Jeff Glor, Norah O'Donnell, Scott Pelley, Anthony Mason, Katherine Couric, Bob Schieffer, Dan Rather, and Steve Hartman anchors hardly show diversity. Without Jeffrey Pegues and Connie Chung CBS where is the diversity?
Rising Star Media, a Russian subsidiary of National Amusements, Inc (the parent company of ViacomCBS) and Shari Redstone (chairman of ViacomCBS and president of National Amusements) have even less diverse histories.
Redstone is a member of the board of directors at Combined Jewish Philanthropies which the CJP's mission is to inspire and mobilize the "diverse" Jewish community.
A Delaware court ordered CBS to turn over internal documents to a disgruntled shareholder who claims that the "merger" unfairly benefits Redstone.
