This documentary was incredible! As a mom that most definitely understands how amazing kids on the Spectrum are, this documentary allowed me a brief (way too brief!) glimpse at the things he tackles each and every day, yet would never want to concern me and therefore never says “this bothers me” or “that is difficult for me.” He’s been so independent from the very start when he began to roll over at 6 weeks of age! Always wanting to do, or at least try, on his own at first. But we are a social being and it’s so important to trust family, friends, community, as I can assure any Aspie that “Neuro-typicals Are Not ANY of Us!!” If I had been able to see a live show, the only thing that I would have told the guys, as a mom who cares, that they should not even factor in the lack of affect in some of their duller audiences or allow it to bother them one iota! I think that maybe there may have been confusion that they were going to learn more about Aspergers, that it would be like the documentary, only all at once! It might help if you guys did a brief overview of what it is and then each briefly explained an area of difficulty that they could relate to.....something like “Many people are deathly afraid of needles. Shots, blood draws send them into such a state that some people even have to be medicated for their fear just so that they can have an annual check-up. And then maybe just a quick few bullet points. I know that you’re purpose is to be comedians, and each of you qualifies for that title hands down, but Noah was born in the 80’s, and you guys just came face to face with how little so many people still know! (Doesn’t anybody READ anymore?!) We’ve got some work to do gentlemen! But you guys covered a LOT of ground and Ethan, I was so impressed with your Courage! I apologize for using the “C” word, but honey, after all you went through losing your dad, that requires much more than 1 year even, but rather than just sitting at home grieving and depressed, you went out and did a Cross Country Comedy Tour! I lost my oldest son in 2014, and the grief remains, it just becomes a bit easier to manage on a daily basis. We adapt! Life always finds a way! Just so very impressed! I did get online after watching the documentary in hopes you were doing another tour, but I can’t even find a website! Domain Names are SO cheap these days, if nothing else, PLEASE create a website! 🥰 And to anyone that has NOT watched this Documentary, if you had time to read my review, WATCH it and learn what the world will look like in 10 years when the next generation inherits the earth!
